The rotten timbers are removed and some of the shed frame is strengthened.
I decided to remove all the lower timber as this would make it easier to replace under the window, it just so happened the the run would put up to the window with out having to cut.
There looks great with the added trim around the window.
The timber on this side of the shed is damaged and needs replacing. Having removed the rotten timber and strengthened the shed frame, the new timber is fitted.
Jib done, just needs painting to match in with existing.
Here you can see how the joist by the front door have rotted slightly over the years.
So of the get some timber and a new board.
I have used plastic spacers to raise the new timbers from the old joists to prevent the slight damp getting through and to get me to the right level for the new board to sit on.
There job done and the new board is level with the existing.
It’s unfortunate but in a new build the pipes for the heating system run through the walls.
It’s impossible to see where the pipes go so if l’m going to hang or fit something to a plaster board wall l always check with a professional detector to see if there are any pipes or electrical cables.
Unfortunately for the BT engineer they didn’t check and drilled through these pipes. It took a month for the home owner to release water was slowly dripping out and damaging the floor.
My job was to simply cover over the hole made by the plumber who mended the leak.
Leave that to dry then after a little sand down your ready to paint.
Where the old built cardboard was covering over the stairwell hight. The scars made good with plaster and plasterboard. The boxing over was requested to make a bedside table to which the bed will be placed. Finishing off with the skirting.
The front step to the Summer House has rotted away and need replacing.
So after measuring up and removing the rotten timbers, some of the main suports and frame had to be replaced aswell, l finished off with the end result.
The customer wanted to cover over the boiler and the pipe work. So I suggested boxing in the unit with a standing cabinet that can be used for storage. It’s important the boiler can be accessed for serving, allowing for easy access.
Boxed in boiler using a kitchen unit fixed to the wall. With selves added the cabinet is also able for storage.
There, much neater and smarter, with plenty of space to access the boiler for serving.
It is always best to paint a room that is clear of furniture and furnishings but that’s not alway the case, in fact it is mostly the case, after all we live in our homes! It took me nearly 2 hours to get this sitting and dinner clear and under dust sheets with the sofas, tables and TV having to be moved and covered.
Covered furniture, I’ve made a start on the walls and have painted the ceiling.
Once I have finished all the painting, I applied two coats to the walls, I have to put everything back, TV on wall curtains etc.
Finished with furnishings back as they where.
There, job done. The customer can come home from work and everything is back to how it should be, just put the kettle on then..
